ABOUT US

Infrastructure for African games and comics

Jiwe IO is where creators across Africa publish playable games and comics, run jams, gather feedback, and raise money from the people who actually play their work — on payment rails that work locally.

THE PROBLEM

Why Jiwe exists

African creative and gaming communities are held back less by talent than by plumbing. Global storefronts and crowdfunding platforms rarely support local payment methods, payouts are slow or unavailable, and discovery is built around audiences somewhere else. Creators end up stitching together tools that were never designed for them.

Jiwe closes that gap with one platform: hosting, distribution, community feedback, funding, and payouts, built around how people in these markets actually pay and get paid.

OUR JOURNEY

Where we came from

We have been building for African creatives since 2019, starting with educational games and community esports tournaments and growing into the platform Jiwe is today. The work has always been the same: give creators somewhere to put their projects in front of players, and give players a way to back the work they want to see finished.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

How the platform works

  • Publish and play. Upload builds and comic issues, keep versions, and reach players through the games and comics catalogues.
  • Get feedback. Comments, reviews, and the leaderboard show creators what is landing and what needs work.
  • Raise funding. Run a time-bound campaign for a specific update, feature, or release, and ship the next version with your players behind it.
  • Run a jam. Host Learning Jams, Game Jams, and Playtests from the jams page, and collect submissions in one place.
  • Get paid. Wallets, telco integrations, and payment APIs handle purchases, pledges, and withdrawals across the region.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Built with the community

Early-stage work deserves an audience before it is finished. Jiwe is built so that a rough build with real players and real feedback is worth more than a polished one nobody has tried — and so that the support a creator earns goes back into the next version.
